Indrakumar Tiwari, a 45-year-old farmer and part-time teacher from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, was allegedly murdered in Uttar Pradesh after being lured into a fake marriage by Sahiba Bano, who impersonated ‘Khushi Tiwari’ on social media. Tiwari had publicly expressed his loneliness and revealed he owned 18 acres of land during a viral spiritual discourse video.

Bano and her accomplices, allegedly including her husband Kaushal, staged a wedding ceremony in Gorakhpur, murdered Tiwari hours later, and dumped his body in a drain in Kushinagar’s Hata area. Police have arrested Sahiba Bano and two others, and investigations reveal the group allegedly planned to use wedding photos to claim Tiwari’s property as his widow.

The Deceptive Wedding: How a Viral Appeal Led to Murder

Indrakumar Tiwari’s heartfelt confession about his loneliness and land ownership—shared during a spiritual discourse with Guru Aniruddhacharya—allegedly went viral, drawing sympathy and attention. Sahiba Bano, posing as ‘Khushi Tiwari’, allegedly forged an Aadhaar card and contacted Tiwari on social media, proposing marriage.

Tiwari, hopeful for companionship, allegedly agreed and informed his family that he was travelling to Kushinagar to marry ‘Khushi’. He arrived in Gorakhpur, where Bano and her accomplices allegedly staged a wedding ceremony. Just hours after the ceremony, Tiwari was allegedly stabbed to death with a knife, which was later found lodged in his neck. His body was allegedly dumped in a drain in Sukarouli, under Hata Kotwali, Kushinagar.

Investigation and Arrests: Unraveling the Crime

Tiwari’s body was discovered on June 6, initially unidentified but later matched to a missing person case from Jabalpur. Police from Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh collaborated to crack the case. Investigators found that Bano, allegedly along with her husband Kaushal and another accomplice, planned to use wedding photographs to claim Tiwari’s farmland as his widow.

Kaushal, who had reportedly been tricked into a staged marriage himself, was allegedly promised a share of the land sale proceeds. All three accused have been arrested, and a detailed probe is ongoing. Tiwari’s valuables, including jewellery and cash, were allegedly stolen during the crime

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

This tragic case highlights the dangers of oversharing personal information online and the vulnerability of those seeking companionship. Indrakumar Tiwari’s openness about his loneliness and property allegedly made him a target for exploitation.

The Logical Indian stands for empathy, safety, and community vigilance, urging society to support those seeking connection while remaining cautious of exploitation.
