In a heartwarming reunion, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Santosh Patel tracked down vegetable vendor Salman Khan in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, 14 years after Khan’s act of kindness helped Patel during his struggling days as an engineering student. The two men, who forged a bond in 2009-10 when Khan provided free vegetables to Patel, embraced each other, reminiscing about their past. Patel, now a police officer, expressed gratitude for Khan’s generosity, while Khan felt proud to see his friend succeed.

A Long-Lost Friendship Rekindled

On Saturday, a police vehicle approached Salman Khan as he sold vegetables near Apsara Talkies in Bhopal. Initially nervous, Khan was relieved to see DSP Santosh Patel, who recognized him despite the years and changes. Their friendship began when Patel, then a struggling student from Panna, often visited Khan for vegetables he could not afford. “You would come to take vegetables,” Khan recalled fondly. Patel shared that he is the first graduate in his large family and credited Khan’s kindness for helping him through tough times when he had no money for food.

The Journey of Kindness

The bond between Patel and Khan blossomed during Patel’s challenging days in Bhopal. As a student studying under a kerosene lamp and working odd jobs, Patel often relied on Khan’s generosity for sustenance. In return, Patel occasionally assisted Khan with his work. “I gave him vegetables at times; it’s not a big deal,” Khan stated, highlighting their mutual understanding as they both came from humble backgrounds. After completing his engineering degree and facing job struggles, Patel eventually joined the police force in 2017 and has since become an influential figure on social media.
