In a shocking revelation, the Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust has alleged that former trustees of Mumbai’s prestigious Lilavati Hospital engaged in black magic rituals on the hospital premises. Eight urns containing human skulls, bones, hair, and rice were discovered under the office floor of a trustee, prompting allegations of murder-like sacrifices.

The allegations, which also include financial misappropriation of over ₹1,500 crore, have led to multiple FIRs being filed against the former trustees. The current trustees, supported by Executive Director Param Bir Singh, claim that despite these serious allegations, the Bandra police initially refused to file an FIR, prompting them to approach the court. The former trustees have denied all allegations, calling them a malicious attempt to frame them.

Uncovering the Allegations

The discovery of the urns was brought to the attention of trustee Prashant Mehta by former employees in December 2024. Mehta accused the former trustees of performing black magic rituals, possibly involving murder-like sacrifices. The hospital’s engineering department was directed to break the flooring, and the findings were documented on video.

Param Bir Singh, former Mumbai Police Commissioner and now Executive Director of Lilavati Hospital, supported these claims, stating that despite the severity of the allegations, the Bandra police initially refused to register an FIR. This led the hospital to approach the court, which decided to conduct its own investigation instead of directing the police to do so. The former trustees have vehemently denied these allegations, stating they are baseless and part of a larger dispute over the trust’s administration.

Background and Investigations

The allegations of black magic are part of a broader controversy involving financial irregularities at Lilavati Hospital. A forensic audit revealed significant misappropriation of funds, amounting to over ₹1,500 crore, which has impacted the trust’s operations and healthcare services.

The trust has filed multiple complaints with the Enforcement Directorate and the Mumbai Police, resulting in several FIRs against the former trustees. The case has been handed over to the Economic Offences Wing for further investigation. The dispute over the trust’s administration is ongoing, with the former trustees claiming that the current allegations are an attempt to illegally usurp control of the trust.

The Legal and Social Implications

As the investigation unfolds, it is crucial to consider the legal and social implications of these allegations. The involvement of law enforcement and judicial bodies underscores the seriousness with which these claims are being treated. However, it is also important to ensure that such allegations do not lead to unnecessary fear or misinformation among the public.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

The allegations of black magic and financial misappropriation at Lilavati Hospital highlight the need for transparency and accountability in institutions, especially those critical to public health. While the allegations are serious and warrant thorough investigation, it is equally important to ensure that such claims do not lead to unnecessary fear or misinformation.

The Logical Indian advocates for a balanced approach that prioritizes truth and justice while promoting harmony and coexistence. As this story unfolds, we must ask: How can we ensure that institutions remain free from such allegations and maintain the trust of the public, and what role can we play in fostering a culture of transparency and accountability?
