In a world often overwhelmed by challenges, some individuals choose to lead change with compassion, courage, and purpose. Latha Rajan, Co-founder of the Ma Foi Foundation, is one such transformative leader. Through her tireless work, she has built a legacy of empowerment—reaching women, children, and marginalized communities across India with hope, opportunity, and sustainable pathways to Growth.

Her leadership is not just about charity, but about fostering self-reliance, building resilient communities, and inspiring generations to rise above adversity. With every life touched, Latha Rajan’s efforts paint a vivid picture of how one person’s unwavering commitment can ignite a transformative ripple that uplifts entire communities and fuels a nation’s progress.

From Awareness to Action

Inspired by the harsh realities she witnessed in Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu, where child labour and poverty were deeply entrenched, Latha Rajan chose not to look away. She knocked on doors, spoke with families, and urged parents to send their children to school.

What began as personal intervention evolved into a larger movement—the Ma Foi Foundation, established in 2006 as the CSR arm of the Ma Foi Group. Latha’s vision was clear: empower communities by addressing the root causes of poverty through education, skilling, and financial independence.

Today, her leadership has impacted over 60,000 women and 20,000 children, transforming lives and placing hope back into the hands of those long left behind.

Equipping Women to Lead

Central to the Foundation’s success is its focus on women’s empowerment. Under Latha’s guidance, the Foundation has supported the formation of over 4,200 women’s self-help groups (SHGs), providing access to microloans worth ₹30 crores.

With a stunning 100% repayment rate, these women have launched businesses—from tailoring to food processing—emerging as confident entrepreneurs and community leaders. Programs like Skills on Wheels bring digital and financial literacy directly to rural women.

A mobile training van equipped with laptops and trainers travels to remote areas, teaching women how to use digital tools, access government subsidies, and even sell products online.

Educating Future Leaders

Latha Rajan also believes in the power of education to rewrite destinies. Through the Disha initiative, over 4,000 scholarships have been awarded to underprivileged children. Nearly 300 of these students are now employed professionals—many being the first in their families to break the cycle of poverty.

The Foundation’s Disha Kalvi Maiyam learning centres support thousands of children in villages, while the Gems of Disha program ensures at-risk students clear the crucial 10th-grade examinations with guidance and mentorship. The vision: no child left behind.

Building Capabilities, Not Just Charity

Recognizing that sustainable change comes through capability building, Latha has championed job readiness programs for unemployed youth.

Partnerships with Tech Mahindra Foundation, Axis Bank, and Mahindra Logistics provide training in sectors like BFSI, healthcare, and logistics—placing hundreds into meaningful employment. The Foundation also addresses healthcare through the Ekam initiative, helping over 4,000 children receive critical medical support.

A Legacy of Purpose

What sets Latha Rajan apart is her deeply humane approach. She believes that every person deserves dignity and the right to dream, and she ensures the Ma Foi Foundation creates spaces where that happens. She actively engages with communities, mentors youth, and mobilizes resources—turning intentions into transformative action.

Her philosophy is simple yet powerful: “Our society. Our responsibility.” Under her inspiring leadership, the Ma Foi Foundation has proven that when compassion meets vision, the impact is not only measurable—it’s life-changing. Latha Rajan’s journey is a glowing example of how one woman’s belief in the power of people can uplift a nation—one empowered life at a time.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

At The Logical Indian, we wholeheartedly commend Latha Rajan for her exceptional vision and compassionate leadership. Through the Ma Foi Foundation, she has empowered thousands of women and children to rise above adversity, proving that dedication combined with action can transform entire communities.

Rajan’s inspiring journey is a powerful reminder of the difference one committed individual can make in creating a more inclusive and hopeful society.
