Expelled BJP lawmaker – Kuldeep Singh Sengar who is accused of raping a teenage girl in Unnao has now been charged with the murder of her father with nine others. Sengar is in jail since April 2018.
A Delhi court on August 13 framed charges against the Bangarmau MLA with his brother, Atul Sengar and eight others for allegedly killing the victim’s father and planting a gun at his residence.
The court has also slapped murder charges on Malhi police station in-charge Ashok Singh Bhadauria, sub-inspector Kamta Prasad, and constable Amir Khan who were linked to the case after cancelling their bail request.
The court charged Sengar and nine others for punishable offences under IPC Sections 302 (murder), 341 (wrongful restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation), 193 (false evidence), 120B (criminal conspiracy) and under Section 25 of the Arms Act.
The court said that planting of a gun at the victim’s father place was a “part of a larger conspiracy to deter, silence and prevent the father from pursuing the complaint.” The court also pointed out that the father’s body had 18 severe scars.
On April 3, 2018, the father of the survivor was taken to the police station. An FIR was lodged against him for possessing a country-made pistol and four live cartridges. Later he was sent to judicial custody where he died on April 9, 2018.
The judge on Sengar’s defence of he being in Delhi during the time of murder said that Sengar was in constant touch with police officers in Unnao and added that the victim’s father was picked from a road and beaten up at the police station.
Last month, the survivor’s car was met with an accident while she was on her way to Raebareli in which two of her aunts died. The survivor and her lawyers were seriously injured in the collision and are still undergoing treatment.
The driver and the cleaner of the truck that collided the car underwent brain mapping tests in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar on court’s order.
