Karnataka woman thrashes bank manager
The video of the incident, which occurred on October 15 reportedly received more than 25,000 views in just one hour. According to NDTV, the woman in the video was confronting a bank manager after he allegedly asked for sexual favours in lieu of approving a loan worth Rs 15 lakh.
The woman can be seen dragging the man by his collar while beating him with a cane and slippers. Not only that but in the 50-second clip, the woman can be heard speaking in Kannada, asking the man to come to the police station. The woman can also be heard responding to those who are filming the incident saying that there is nothing wrong with what she is doing. In the video, the guy in the blue shirt can be seen trying to fend the blows without resorting to violence.
According to The New Indian Express, the incident occurred at Nijalingappa extension of Davangere. The man has been identified as an employee of a reputed loan agency in the city. The loan agency in question has notified The Logical Indian that they have terminated the services of the employee with immediate effect. The daily reported that the woman was invited by the man to his house for loan sanction. He then allegedly asked sexual favours from her. However, the woman pulled him out of the house and thrashed him in front of full public view.
Later, the man was handed over to police and a formal complaint was registered against him. The man is reported to have been produced before the court while he is presently behind bars, reported The New Indian Express. The video even got an overwhelming response as many lauded the woman for her act of courage.
While violence in any form is to be condemned, it is to be noted that the courage needed to confront one’s harasser is immense.
