What makes a father’s heart fill with pride and joy? Seeing his son become the Superintendent of Police in the city where he has been serving as a police constable. It is a moment of pride and honour for police constable Janardan Singh that his son Anoop Kumar Singh has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police(North) Lucknow. Now, the police station at which Janardan works comes under his son’s command.

Janardan Singh is posted at the Vibhuti Khand Police Station in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. As per NDTV, Anoop Kumar Singh was transferred from Unnao to Lucknow and took charge on Sunday. Janardan Singh was very happy with the development. He told news agency ANI “I feel proud to have my son as my senior. It is an honour for me. It feels good to work under him”. He also said that he will follow the protocol and salute his son whenever he meets his son on duty.

Echoing his father’s professional attitude, Anoop Kumar Singh said “Everyone has a personal and professional life. We will work as expected of our posts.” He also said that he has learned a lot from his father and was very happy that they would work together. Anoop Kumar Singh is the only child of Janardan Singh and his wife Kanchan.

Another proud father

This story resembles the heart touching story of another police officer who saluted his daughter who is the Superintendent of Police of Jagtiyal district of Telangana. Deputy Commissioner of Police A R Umamaheswara Sarma said that he is proud to salute his daughter, Sindhu Sarma, who is his senior, reported The Indian Express. The father-daughter duo came face to face while performing their duties once during the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) meeting and the very proud father saluted his daughter, who is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of 2014 batch.

“This is the first time we have come together while doing our duties. I am fortunate to work with her,” said Umamaheswara Sarma.
