India is wearing their ‘orange jersey’ as a part of UNICEF’s ‘One Day For Children’ Campaign’ during the match at Edgbaston. The money that will be raised will be used in supporting UNICEF’s work in cricket-playing nations to help children remain healthy and learn to play.

“As part of our continuing work with UNICEF through Cricket for Good, we are delighted to launch #OneDay4Children and use the platform of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 to help more children to play and be healthy,” Dave Richardson, ICC Chief said.

Richardson further said that till date, this is the most ambitious charity project and he believes that cricket fans will come together to build a better world for children.

The ICC also shared a video of the Indian team unveiling their kit for the game.

Meanwhile, Indian skipper Virat Kohli said in the pre-match press conference that blue will remain the colour of the Indian team and that the kit will be used just for one game.

“For one game, it’s fine. I don’t think permanently we’d be heading in that direction because blue has always been our colour, very proud to wear that. For a change and looking at the occasion, it’s a very smart kit,” said Kohli.

There has been a lot of controversy regarding the choise of the colour ever since the announcement of the new jersey. In fact, the decision was termed as saffronization of cricket by some political leaders from opposition parties.
