On December 8, a headless body of a woman in a bag was found outside the Kalyan railway station, Mumbai. The body was found cut into three pieces.

A day after the incident, the police arrested the father of the deceased, The Times of India reported.

The police informed that the father, Arvind Tiwari, had killed his daughter, Princy as he was against his daughter’s wish of marrying a man from a different community.

Arvind had kept the body in a suitcase, and boarded an autorickshaw to throw it at an isolated place. However, he abandoned the bag in the vehicle and fled. The autorickshaw driver later lodged a complaint against the father.

The police said that they looked at the CCTV footage at the Titwala and Kalyan railway stations. They further said that Arvind took the help of another person to carry the bag from the station to the autorickshaw.

“Constable Sanjay Babar, during the investigation, got a tip-off of the location of the culprit. The crime branch raided Tiwari’s house at Saikrupa Chawl at Indiranagar in Titwala, but couldn’t find him. Arvind was later arrested from his office in Malad,” the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Deepak Deoraj said to media.

Narrating the incident, a police officer said that Arvind told the police that his daughter was in a relationship with a man from another community who worked in the same building as her. When she told her father of her plan to marry this man, he strongly objected to the alliance. But, she insisted that she would marry the man of her choice.”

The officer added, “Angered by her stubborn response, Tiwari said he first poisoned Princy and then pieced her body with a hacksaw-like blade and stuffed the chopped parts into a bag.”

Arvind carried out the murder of his daughter when his wife and three other children were out of town.
