A video went viral on social media on November 18, which showed a tuition teacher brutally beating a 7-year-old boy at the child’s home in Naurangabad area of Aligarh, UP.
The incident came to light after the parents checked the CCTV footage of the father’s office, where the tuition teacher taught the minor.
Beaten, hair pulled, fingers bit
Kamal Sharma alias Pinky, the tuition teacher can be seen beating the class two student and even biting his fingers. He even beat the minor with his shoe. The man then grabbed the boy with his hair and ear and shook him
The man can be further seen beating the boy on his finger with a key-like object. After thrashing him, he even offered the boy a glass of water and forced him to smile. The video clip went viral, reported The Times of India.
Speaking with The Times of India, Aligarh SSP, Ajay Kumar Sahni said that even though the teacher has not been arrested yet, a case has been registered under section 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC against the teacher.
The father of the child said that the boy was complaining of pain around his mouth and was quiet for some days. Both his wife and him were unable to ascertain the reason. They have a locks’ parts manufacturing factory in Aligarh. One day, a worker complained of certain stuff and asked him to check the CCTV footage. That is when they came across the video of the teacher brutally engaging in the criminal act.
“I am really feeling bad that the teacher used to beat my little child in my house every day and I could not do anything. My son was screaming and was in pain, but I could not save him,” said his father.
He further added that because there were machines working around, they were not aware of this brutality. He said that Kamal used to teach his boy all subjects and would take Rs 2000 every month.
The Logical Indian Take
The video of the child being thrashed is appaling and saddening to witness. To think, a person can beat a child in such a manner is deplorable to imagine. We hope that strict action is taken against the man.
Teachers are extremely influential in a child’s growing years. If the boy is treated abusively in his formative years, he would grow up with repression and might further facilitate the cycle of abuse. This needs to stop. Resorting to violence with children is never a solution to make them study or do anything. They need love, care, understanding and patience.
It is also important for the parents to vet the teachers they are assigning to their wards. Children are scared of authority figures and would often not disclose such abuse to their parents on their own.
