In yet another student death case in Bihar’s Kaimur district, a class 5 student was found dead in a private school’s bathroom meant for teachers.
The deceased’s mother is a teacher while his sister studies in class 8 in the same school. On the day of the incident, the sister went on looking for her brother during the school hours. When she couldn’t find him, she informed the other teachers as her mother was on leave.
The initial investigation suggests that the 11-year-old boy’s body was found with a yellow wire tied around his neck with the washroom door shut from outside.
“Initial investigation points to death by hanging. He either killed himself or was murdered by other people. It is a heinous crime and police will solve the case within a few days,” superintendent of police, Dilnawaz Ahmad told Hindustan Times.
The incident has sparked anger amongst the locals as this is the third such incident from the area and the second incident reported from the same school in a week.
On August 31 a class VI girl student of a school in Sion in Kaimur died in suspected conditions after she suddenly fell during the morning prayers.
On August 28, a class 10 boy from Indrapuri area in the Kaimur district was found dead in suspected conditions.
On July 26 a class 11 student, from Modern Public School, Lalapur was critically injured after coming in contact with a high voltage electric wire on the roof of the school.
Are Private Schools Safe
Students security in private schools has been a cause of concern for many parents. Right from the Pradyuman murder case in Delhi’s high-class Ryan International School to the recent deaths in Bihar, several instances of students dying in the schools have surfaced in the past few year.
Such instances not only raise questions on the safety of kids at private schools but also puts a question mark on their attitude towards student safety.
