Bihar: No Vacancy For BCs Among 1,311 Pharmacist Posts, RLSP Chief Upendra Kushwaha Questions Recruitment Drive

Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) chief and former Union Minister, Upendra Kushwaha, on Sunday, questioned the advertisement put out by the Bihar Health Society for recruitment of 1,311 pharmacists, for having no vacancies under the Backward Caste(BC) category.

“It is quite surprising that out of 1,311 posts, not single post (vacancy) has been shown for BC category. All the categories such as Unreserved(UR), SC, ST, MBC, EWS have got their share of posts as per their respective quota, but BC category has not been shown a share of a single post,” said Kushwaha, according to a report by NDTV.

In the advertisement posted by the Bihar State Health Society, BC category has zero vacancies, while Unreserved has 576, SC has 284, ST has 20, MBC has 244, WBC has 56, and EWS has 131 vacancies. Stating that the zero vacancies for BC category are “against social justice,” Kushwaha added that he had discussed the issue with Bihar Health Minister, Mangal Pandey, on Sunday. Pandey had also assured Kushwaha that he would look into the matter and get back to him, said the report.

Kushwaha, on Friday, tweeted a picture of the advertisement, tagging Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar, and said, “Nitish Kumar, sir it seems like you have given a contract to kill backward classes. You ask for votes in the name of social justice, at least have some shame. Youth doesn’t pick up a gun for no reason. To what extent will they suffer injustice?”

Earlier on Monday in a tweet, he alleged that Nitish Kumar is depriving backward classes of their right. “1311 Pharmacist posts are being filled without a single seat for backward classes. Who knows in how many more government departments this practice is being followed?” he said in the tweet.
