The Judiciary and Executive are supposed to be helping hands to each other. But in India, it seems that the pathetic state of affairs has transformed Judiciary into a class teacher trying to keep a check on the activities of Executive aka mischievous students.

The pathetic conditions of the government primary schools in Uttar Pradesh has forced the Allahabad High Court to issue directives to the Chief Secretary to ensure that children/wards of government officials/servants, those serving in the local bodies, representatives of people and judiciary, etc., send their wards to these schools.

“Only then would they be serious enough to look into the requirements of these schools and ensure that they are run in good condition,” the court observed as reported by TOI

In its order, the HC asked the state government to take appropriate steps to ensure that these guidelines are implemented from the next academic session. In case the government employees fail to send their kids to the government primary schools, an amount, which they are paying as fee for their wards in private schools, will be deducted from their salaries every month. The court also directed the Chief Secretary to submit a compliance report in the next six months.

The Logical Indian applauds the decision of the court and wishes that this would be implemented all across India. Those who are responsible for taking care of these schools have turned a blind eye to the pathetic condition of the government primary schools and are not at all interested in improving it. This decision will force the officials to look into it and for at least their own wards, they would be interested in improving the condition of the schools
