Aam Aadmi Party which took pot shots at other political parties for extensively spending tax payers’ money on advertising and promotions – is spending more than 1.5 crore on a television commercial.
The advertisement has cost the state exchequer an amount of more than 1.5 crore rupees, which could have been used for fulfilling the needs of taxpayers. Isn’t the party now breaking their vows for austerity?
In the last 4 months of their rule, AAP government has spent 4 crore rupees on pubicity and it is more likely that in the first budget – expected to be tabled next week – they are going to allocate more funds for it.
The ad in question potrayed Arvind Kejriwal as a “saviour” and was yet another attempt in making him a cult personality. This shows how AAP is continuously centering around Arvind Kejriwal and elevating him to cult status.
The Logical Indian community abhors personality politics and government spending on personal issues. The taxpayers’ money most be allocated for infrastructure, education, healthcare etc. It is highly irresponsible of the government to spend large sums of money on self-promotion. It is also a betrayal of popular mandate.
