India’s women’s hockey star Deepika has added another illustrious chapter to her young career, winning the Poligras Magic Skill Award 2024-25 for her breathtaking solo goal against world number one Netherlands during the FIH Hockey Pro League.
Selected through an intense global fan vote held from July 4 to 13, the award recognises singular brilliance and technical mastery in field hockey, with Deepika emerging as the people’s favourite in a fiercely contested international field.

During the Bhubaneswar leg of the FIH Pro League at Kalinga Stadium in February 2025, India faced an uphill battle against the dominant Netherlands side. Trailing 0–2, Deepika seized a fleeting chance in the 35th minute.
