Indian boxer Jaismine Lamboria has solidified her position as a strong medal contender at the 2025 World Boxing Championships in Liverpool by defeating Brazil’s Jucielen Romeu Cerqueira with a dominant 5:0 unanimous decision.

Earlier, she won convincingly against Ukraine’s Daria-Olha Hutarina with the same scoreline. Now in the quarterfinals of the women’s 57kg category, Jaismine is one victory away from ensuring India a medal at the prestigious tournament.

Officials from the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) praised her discipline and dedication, while fans across India celebrated her successes with enthusiasm.

Commanding Performances Reflect Skill and Preparation

Jaismine’s journey in Liverpool has been marked by technical proficiency and tactical control. Against Cerqueira, she maintained an aggressive but calculated style, consistently landing clean punches and controlling the bout’s pace. Her previous win over Hutarina was similarly decisive, with all judges scoring in her favour 5:0.

The BFI expressed confidence in her potential, with a spokesperson noting, “Jaismine is demonstrating the power of perseverance and focus. She’s an inspiration for upcoming women boxers and a national pride.” Her composure under pressure highlights the rigorous preparation she and her coaching team have invested over the years.

Rising Through the Ranks: From National Talent to World Stage

Jaismine comes from a strong boxing lineage, with her family history steeped in the sport; her great grandfather was heavyweight boxer and two-time Asian Games gold medallist Hawa Singh. Trained by family members who were national champions, Jaismine’s rise is a testament to India’s growing prominence in women’s boxing.

Prior to the World Championships, she won gold at the 2025 World Boxing Cup in Astana and secured bronze medals at the 2021 Asian Boxing Championships and the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Her consistent victories at international tournaments indicate India’s steady progress in fielding competitive female pugilists on the global platform.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective: Celebrating Women in Sport

Jaismine Lamboria’s success shines a light not just on athletic achievement but on the broader social narrative of women breaking barriers in Indian sport. Her story embodies resilience, hard work, and the gradual shift toward gender equality in traditionally male-dominated arenas.

At The Logical Indian, there is a deep appreciation for athletes who foster unity, discipline, and hope through their efforts.
