Mothers face a harrowing experience while breast feeding the infants in public places. In order to provide them relief, the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC), has developed two rooms for breastfeeding.

The rooms which are named as Amrit Kalash, have been developed at Mansarovar and Chandpole stations, which are starting points of the Metro corridor from either ends.

The rooms are first of its kind as apart from international airports, this facility is not found in any of the public place.

The keys of the rooms are provided to the commuters on requirement. The corporation has put beds and chairs for the mothers. In order to inform the mothers about the vaccination, posters have been pasted in the room. The rooms are painted in rainbow colours to give a lively atmosphere. The JMRC has also installed intercom service which would connect the speaker directly to the station master and CCC workers.

The Jaipur Metro will be equipped with solar power in order to meet the requirements. With this the metro station will go green. At Mansarovar depot, a solar plant having a capacity of 100 kw, has been set up on the rooftop. This plant will produce 1.5 lakh units of electricity. It saves Rs 10 lakh. The plant has 414 solar panels, each having a capacity of generating 250 watt power.
