I Was Surprised To See A Starbucks Employee Learning Sign Language Just For Me

Ibby Piracha is a regular customer at a coffee outlet in Leesburg, Virginia in the U.S. He is deaf, so he types out his order on his phone and the staff in the counter read it out.

But a week ago, Ibby was responded by sign language and was handed over a note by the staff. The note read, “I’ve been learning ASL just so you can have the same experience as everyone else.” (ASL means American Sign Language).

This came totally as a surprise for Ibby. He was elated by this gesture.


He wrote in his Facebook Timeline:

The Logical Indian appreciates the compassion shown by the woman and the extra mile she took to make a deaf person feel good by learning sign language.
