I Always Knew I Wanted To Marry Her, But How I Asked Her To Marry Me Was Very Impulsive

“I knew her since we were children, but I really got to know her when she moved to Bombay from Bihar and lived in my lane. I always knew I wanted to marry her, but how I asked her to marry me was very impulsive. I was a sailor and this one time, whilst I was dating her, my journey got cancelled.

I don’t know what got into me then but I just landed up at her door step, got on one knee and asked her to marry me! When she said ‘yes’, I said ‘okay I don’t want to wait any longer – we’re getting married tomorrow!’ Obviously, most places were booked out, given the short notice but we finally found a quaint little restaurant/hall near the Taj Mahal hotel which was available and it was just perfect because we had only our closest family and friends.

Unfortunately, our honeymoon was a really short one in Mussoorie, but you see I’m a sailor and we’re as romantic as they get…so I took my bride to sea with me – and even though I was working – it was a 4 month long honeymoon with the only person I wanted to see the world with.”
