There are some symptoms that women can look upon to make sure if they are pregnant or not. Of course, these are not wholly authentic methods to know if women really should be expecting a baby, but these will help clear the image a little since these happen to be some of the first signs of pregnancy in women.
Missed Period:
A missed period is the most basic sign that a woman might be pregnant. Though some women may bleed a little even if they are pregnant during this time, it will not be like a normal period. In case, a woman does not get regular periods, then consultation with a doctor will be a better idea rather than speculating by oneself. Other symptoms can help make sure if she is pregnant.
Light Bleeding:
Though it is an opposite saying, a mom-to-be may experience implantation bleeding. This is the light bleeding that may occur in the early stage of pregnancy. This can happen for 1 to 3 days and up to a week or so. This generally happens during the time a woman will be expecting her period. Whether a woman experiences implantation bleeding or not, pregnancy can be on the cards.
Food Aversions/Cravings:
Some newly pregnant women may experience sudden repulsion from some food items. This may happen due to the rise of estrogen in their system, but the women will develop sudden unlikeliness towards the smell of some food or the food itself, even if they had liked the food in the past. Same is the case with the likeness. They might get drawn to food items that they were not much fond of in the past. These cravings or aversion can happen throughout the pregnancy as well. It is all normal.
Mood Swings:
Mood swing is a basic sign that women can experience if expecting a baby. This happens due to the hormonal changes which further affects neurotransmitters. These can range from feelings of extreme happiness or sadness to depression or stress. In case, the moms-to-be felt anxious and stressed a lot; they should consult doctors and consultants.
Abdominal Bloating:
Just like in periods, women may experience bloating in early days of pregnancy. Again, this is the result of hormonal changes. This is a pretty normal thing if a woman is pregnant.
Frequent Urination:
If you find yourself taking frequent trips to the washroom, chances maybe that you are pregnant. Due to pregnancy the blood flow in the body increases and as a result the kidneys produce excess fluids which are why the expecting mothers will pee often. As the pregnancy progresses, this may happen more often because the growing baby pressurizes the bladder.
Sore Breasts:
This happens after 1 to 2 weeks a woman conceives because of the rise in hormones. After the first trimester, the women will become used to the changes and not feel as much at unease. Other than this, the areolas, the skin area around the nipples, gets pigmented and darker.
The feeling of Nausea:
This can be experienced by the pregnant women followed with or without vomiting. Not only morning sickness, but it can also happen any time of the day. Most women do not feel this way after the first trimester, but for some, it can lead to another month or so. Here too the hormones are to be blamed.
Fatigue:
It is the most experienced symptom of pregnancy. The women expecting pregnancy may feel dizzy or unnecessarily exhausted during this time. The rise in progesterone hormone in pregnant women is one reason behind a feeling of dizziness.
While all these may not be experienced by a single mom-to-be, it is not necessary that every pregnant woman will experience all the symptoms mentioned above. These symptoms may be a cause of something different. Like a missed period is not a necessary indication that a woman is pregnant, it may have been caused due to some hormonal imbalance. Consulting a doctor is the best way to make sure whether a woman should be expecting a baby or not.
