Police in Hisar, Haryana, have registered a case against a private company official for allegedly raping an unmarried woman employee repeatedly over a period of nearly three years at the company office, a crime that has stirred deep unease in the region. The accused was arrested in late June 2025, and the police recently submitted a detailed chargesheet, exceeding 1,900 pages, in court.

Authorities confirm that the next hearing is scheduled for September 10, 2025, as they continue to collect evidence, including mobile data from both the complainant and the accused. The survivor’s complaint has brought out harrowing details of coercion, blackmail, and threats faced over multiple years, exposing the darker realities of workplace safety and power abuses.

Allegations of Abuse and Coercion

According to police officials and the survivor’s account, the alleged abuse began in 2022 when her father introduced her to the accused, who held an influential position in a community organisation and promised to help her pursue education abroad. In early 2024, the survivor was called to Chandigarh on the pretext of an IELTS coaching course, where the accused allegedly spiked her drink and raped her at a hotel.

The incident was recorded, and she was subsequently threatened with fabricated charges and further humiliation if she protested or disclosed the abuse. The victim recounted being forced to sign blank and stamped papers and being coerced into sexual acts repeatedly over months, both in Chandigarh and later in Jaipur, where the accused arranged her accommodation and coaching.

He continued to threaten her safety, promising to make her a “star” and leveraging his social connections, but ultimately manipulated and intimidated her when she did not comply.

Pattern of Violence and Threats

The police chargesheet and statements from officials reveal that the accused exercised systematic control and intimidation over the survivor, using not only his professional position but also a range of threats – from blackmailing her with videos and photographs to claiming she owed him a large sum of money she never borrowed.

The survivor described how her protests were met with further threats against her and her family, forcing her into a prolonged period of silence and submission. Even after returning home, the harassment continued through persistent calls and menacing messages. It was only after she confided in her family that a police case was registered, bringing the events to light and prompting an official investigation.

Official Response and Ongoing Investigation

Authorities have responded by booking the accused under several serious sections of the Indian Penal Code, including repeated rape, wrongful confinement, assault, stalking, and criminal intimidation. The Hisar police have gathered evidence, retrieved mobile data, and are working to ensure a fair judicial process, declaring their intention to support the survivor throughout the investigation and prosecution.

An official statement from Superintendent of Police Shashank Kumar Sawan confirmed the registration of the FIR, the survivor’s medical examination, and ongoing efforts to support her legal rights. Police have cautioned that the investigation is complex, particularly given the accused’s position of power and the line of threats and blackmail involved, but assured that due process will be followed.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

Such brutal crimes are not just violations of the individual’s dignity and safety but undermine the very foundations of trust at work and in society. The Logical Indian remains steadfast in supporting empathy, respect, and justice for survivors of abuse.

Employers, organisations, and society must work together to break the stigma, ensure zero tolerance for harassment, and guarantee a safe, nurturing environment for all.
