Gurugram content creator Shiwangi Peswani shared a disturbing account of harassment by a police officer who allegedly tracked her vehicle using its number plate and subsequently sent unsolicited, disturbing messages on Instagram.
The incident occurred late on the night of September 14, 2025, after Peswani returned home. Initially, messages came from a user claiming to be a female police officer; however, the sender later admitted to being a male officer using a fake profile. Peswani revealed that the officer not only stalked her movements but sent inappropriate remarks on her appearance and age, describing the behaviour as stalking and misuse of police authority.
She documented the messages and filed a formal complaint with cyber crime police, which has led to an investigation. Despite this, police officials reportedly downplayed the incident, suggesting Peswani should have merely blocked the officer, a response she publicly criticised as negligent towards women’s safety.
