The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) declared the Class 12 Science supplementary (Purak) exam results for 2025 on July 12 at 8 AM. The exams were conducted from June 23 to June 30, 2025, in a single shift from 10:30 AM to 1:45 PM. Students who appeared for the supplementary exams can check their provisional results on the official GSEB website (gseb.org).

The results include subject-wise marks, total marks, grades, and pass/fail status. Original mark sheets and certificates will be distributed through schools later. The board has issued circulars for schools regarding post-exam procedures such as mark verification, corrections, and re-appearances.

Supplementary Results Released: What Students Should Know

The supplementary exams offer a vital second chance to students who did not clear one or more subjects in the regular board exams, helping them avoid academic delay. To pass, students must secure at least 33% in each subject and an overall aggregate of 33%. The provisional marksheets are downloadable online, but original documents will be provided by schools.

The board has instructed schools to download the official circular from its website and follow guidelines for mark verification, document verification, name or group corrections, rejection of marks, and re-examination procedures. Students are advised to verify their results carefully and report discrepancies to their schools immediately.

Background and Context: The Role of Supplementary Exams in Gujarat

Supplementary exams are crucial for supporting students who narrowly missed passing in the main exams, reducing dropout rates and ensuring continuity in education. The Gujarat Board’s prompt conduct and result declaration demonstrate its commitment to student welfare and academic progress.

While the Science stream supplementary results are out, results for Arts, Commerce, and General streams are expected later this month. The board’s multiple result dissemination channels, including WhatsApp and SMS, ensure accessibility even during heavy website traffic, reflecting a student-friendly approach to education management.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

At The Logical Indian, we commend the Gujarat Board’s efforts to provide equitable opportunities through timely supplementary exams and transparent result processes.

Education systems must prioritise inclusivity and empathy, recognising that setbacks are part of many students’ journeys. By facilitating easy access to results and clear communication with schools, the board reduces anxiety and fosters trust among students and parents.
