Good To Know : What If You Lost 10th And 12th Mark Sheets?

Mark sheets are very important which is not only essential for enrolling in further studies but required as a mandatory document for fetching a job but also serves as a proof of birth in the absence of a birth certificate. But what if your statement of marks is lost? Well, don’t worry as duplicate mark sheets can be obtained if you have lost the originals which can be used to fulfil all your purposes.


Offline Method

  1. File an FIR in the nearest police station.
  2. Download the form from CBSE website 
  3. Fill the application form carefully.
  4. An Affidavit on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs.10 should be filed.
  5. Prepare a demand draft for the requisite amount.
  6. Attach identification certificate attested from gazetted officer or principal.
  7. Attach the newspaper declaration/press release.
  8. Send to CBSE regional office with all attachments.

Another method of getting CBSE getting duplicate mark sheet is quite hassle-free, which save time, money, energy and lots of paperwork.

CBSE has a cloud-based storage system called Digilocker it is used by the goverment for the storage, sharing and verification of goverment documents.



Online Method

Step to get documents from Digilocker website:

  1. Visit Digilocker.
  2. After that click on sign up.
  3. Enter your registered mobile number and click continue.
  4.  An OTP will be generated taking 2-3 minutes.
  5. Enter that OTP and click continue. Next, you have to set your username and password.
  6. Password has to be 8-30 characters long with an upper case, a digit and a special character.
  7. After this, you will have to fill in your Aadhar card details to verify. Once your Aadhar has been verified.
  8. The  DigiLocker interface opens up after this step, go to right side of the page where you will find a notification about CBSE issuing mark sheet and certificate there.
  9. Click on the link provided there and next it will ask you to select partner name. You have to select CBSE out of the given options.
  10. Fill the form accordingly with the information asked and click on ‘get document’
  11. Two options will appear, ‘view document’ and ‘save document link in “issued docs”
  12. After getting a document you can save it and print.

Step to get documents from Digilocker Mobile App:

  1. Download the DigiLocker app from the play store.
  2. Click on sign up if you are using it the first time. After you click on sign up, app will ask for your mobile number. Enter your mobile number currently in use and register.
  3. An OTP will be sent on that number. Copy that OTP in the dialogue box provided.
  4. App will ask for your email id or phone number password that you will set for this app and a confirmation of the password. Follow the instructions carefully to set the password.
  5. After performing the above process a confirmation SMS/mail will be sent on your phone/email (whichever you provided previously) telling you of your account being successfully made.
  6. Then the app will ask you to set a 4 digit pin for 2-way security. It’s advisable to set it in order to prevent any mishap in case your phone falls into another hand.
  7. Link your Aadhar card with the Digilocker account by filling in your Aadhar card number.
  8. After the verification of Aadhar card you can view and download the required document.

    So, obtaining 10th and 12th CBSE mark sheets is quite easier If you know the right process. Preferably online process as it is launched by goverment it is quite safe and holds much credibility as well.
