The life of an 11-year-old boy took a miraculous turn after a footage of him doing homework under a faint streetlight went viral on the internet.
Víctor Martín Angulo Córdoba, as seen in some of the stills from a surveillance camera, could be seen toiling hard to get his homework done under a dim streetlight in Moche, Peru
A Philanthropist To The Help
After the footage went viral, the kid caught the attention of many organisations, who became interested in helping the boy.
Yaqoob Yusuf Ahmed Mubarak, a philanthropist from Bahrain, flew to Peru to revamp Víctor’s life.
Mubarak has transformed Víctor’s home into a two-storey high building.
Mubarak, who is from a humble background himself, hopes that his favour ensures that the future ahead is bright for Víctor and his family.
He pledged to assist Víctor’s mother in setting up her own business and also urged the locals to help rebuild the boy’s school.
Mubarak offered to set up a computer room in Víctor’s school.
“Thank you for the help you are offering, thank you very much because you are helping us to build our school,” Victor said.
“I thank the people who want to do this to me [build my house]. I thank them very much that they have had that kindness and they have given time to come to my humble home because anyone does not do it.”
It is disheartening to see that despite all the advancement that society boasts of, there are hardworking children like victor for whom even the basic necessities are a distant reality.
There are several kids who struggle to study and earn a decent living, but do not have enough facilities to support them. Very few of them receive any help. Simple, heartwarming gestures like that of Mubarak help restore our faith in humanity.
