Here’s some questions for your reference.
■What does ICICI Academy for Skills do?
For the next couple of decades, India is expected to have a large supply of young people who will be ready to join the workforce and participate in the economic development. Providing livelihoods to the youth will be essential to ensure their effective participation in the growth of the country. As a step in this direction, ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth (www.icicifoundation.org) has launched ICICI Academy for Skills to impart free vocational training to the youth.
■How can I refer and what will happen after that?
Click on the ‘Refer Now’ button available in the menu and fill in the details of the candidate you wish to refer. The Academy will reach out to the referred candidate. Candidates shortlisted on eligibility criteria will enroll for a three-month vocational skill training followed by a job placement opportunity.
■Do I have to be an ICICI customer to refer someone? Do I have to buy any product to refer a youth?
It is not necessary to be an ICICI customer. Also, it is not mandatory to buy any ICICI product to refer the youth.
■How is this program free?
ICICI Academy for Skills is offering free vocational skill training, i.e. the cost of the program is being entirely borne by ICICI Foundation; neither the referrer nor the referred youth has to pay anything. All students are provided with two sets of uniforms, meals along with course-material and access to well-equipped workshops and a library.
■How long will the candidates take to complete their training?
The duration of the courses ranges from 8 to 12 weeks.
■Does the Academy provide placement assistance?
The ICICI Foundation leverages ICICI Group’s corporate relationships to promote the initiative among other corporates and invites them to employ candidates who successfully complete their Certificate Programmes. Students from the Academy have been placed with more than 400 companies across the country. However, completion of the training does not guarantee any job placement.
■How can I keep a tab of the admission status of the candidate I have referred?
You can log in to this website and check the status of your referred candidate in the ‘Track your referrals’ section.
■Will the students receive a certificate post completing this training program?
On successful completion of the training students receive a joint certification from ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth and the Knowledge Partner.
■Is there a limit on the number of referrals that I can submit?
Yes, you can refer only one youth candidate.
