“The death of our soldiers at Siachen has again highlighted the adversity our soldiers face in Siachen. Situated at a height of 19,600 feet, the temperature sometimes drops to -60°c. There are many still fighting there everyday and there are many who, after living there, are serving the society.

Meet Naik Avdesh, who was part of the first troop to be at Siachen after it was captured by the Indian army. After serving India for 17 years on the battlefield, now he is serving the society in a different way. A soldier is always a soldier whether on the battlefield or on the ground. The determination to serve the country never fades away. There are many like him. Kudos to the initiative of Mother Dairy; all mother Dairy booths are run by ex-military personnel. It takes a lot to get adjusted to a normal life after being in the army for a long time, unlearning what you have been taught for years and to adjust to civilian ways of life after spending so much time in Army. They need our support to mingle in the society.

The Logical Indians salutes the army people and their undying spirit to help.”
