Everybody by now has heard of Howdy Modi event where Prime Minister Modi addressed 50,000 Indian-American at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, on September 22.

However, did you hear about the boy who sang Indian national anthem at the event? He himself has an inspiring story to tell.

Sparsh Shah, the 16-year-old boy who has a rare medical condition known as ‘osteogenesis imperfecta’ or brittle bone disease, sang the national anthem in-front of Narendra Modi, US President Donald Trump and 50,000 other people.

“It’s a big thing for me to be singing in front of so many people. I’m excited to be singing the rashtra gana, Jana Gana Mana. The first time I saw Modiji was in Madison Square Garden, I wanted to meet him, but I could only see him on TV,” Elated Shah said before the start of the event.

He was one among 400 other artists who performed at the event. The wheelchair-bound Sparsh is a rapper, singer, songwriter and inspirational speaker. Over the years, he has broken more than 130 bones, but that did not deter his spirit.

He rose to fame when he recorded a video of him singing Eminem’s famous – “Not Afraid”. Soon after the video dropped, netizens could not help but share it widely. The video has more than 50 million views online. Eminem’s record label too shared the video after it went viral.

Since then, Sparsh has performed at multiple events and has also appeared on the UK TV show “Big Shots Little Shots”. A documentary based on his life “Brittle Bone Rapper” was released on March 2018.

Sparsh has delivered several motivational talks, inspiring millions of people to turn impossible into ‘I’m possible.

He has invented a new style of music – Purhythm. Sparsh has also released his first album cover as a tribute to Eminem.
