Man Breaks Ramzan Fast To Donate Blood To Fellow Human

At a time when the country is more communally divided than in recent times, it is important to highlight instances that show we are humans first, then people who follow different faiths.

One such example was set by Aarif Khan. He received a message on WhatsApp that a 20-year-old boy Ajay Bilawalam was suffering from leprosy. The platelets in his blood began to fall rapidly and to a dangerously low level, reported Bhaskar.

Ajay needed A+ blood to survive. Seeing his deteriorating condition, his father posted a message on social media urging people to either donate blood or ask somebody willing to do so. Aarif came across the message and decided to donate blood.

He reached the hospital and was ready to give his blood when he was told by doctors that he needs to eat something before donating. He tried to make them understand that because of Ramzan, he was fasting. But the doctors, keeping his health in mind, insisted he ate and refused to accept his donation if he didn’t. Aarif finally gave in and broke his fast.

The Logical Indian appreciates this small step that proves not all that’s being shown is true. We are not as divided as it is being portrayed. India is a secular country and despite the efforts of a handful who threaten, beat and kill in the name of religion, we are but one.
