Kya scene hai? Aagay ka kya socha hai? Does this sound familiar? An answer to this question is supposedly a resounding ‘yes’. The obsession with what lies ahead in the future is not new. The question, “What do you want to become in the future?” is quiet relatable. Be it school, college, work or marriage, the question of ‘Aagay ka kya socha hai’ keeps tailing us every now and then. Worrying about what’s approaching and undermining the valuable present has conventionally been a standard trend. The prospect of a defined future sends a lot of us into debilitating dubiety. #HowAboutNow is exactly what too many of us want to scream, at the mere mention of ‘What’s going to happen next’.
However, the emerging youngsters of today are called Generation Z for all the right reasons. With their unbruised passion and zeal, they have the courage to shut out the cacophonous voices that constantly try to catapult them into closure. The new generation of spirited individuals is certainly not waiting for that ‘someday’ to achieve what they want. They are constantly creating and contributing to the world that is ‘today’.
“The Future” indeed, by its inherent nature is unforeseeable and unresolved and that is exactly what makes it marvellously dynamic. Flashback to the year 2000, when the highest speed of internet was less than 250 kbps and YouTube did not exist, no one could have imagined in their wildest dreams that being a YouTuber could have been a career option. The point over here is that sometimes in this ever-evolving world, the nature of the job that one is to do in future ‘does not exist’ (yet). In a scenario like so, how right is it to ask a child, “What do you want to do in the future”?
In the end, it is all about trial and error, of failing and getting up, of smiles and struggles. It is truly about the journey of knowing oneself as a whole and that journey starts from ‘Now’. The Gen Z era as we call it, above all is that of being limitless. This unafraid lot just wants to bravely embrace the uncertainties. How liberating it is to stop predicting what’s going to happen next and being able to freely and truly experiment and constantly push boundaries every single minute that we have now.
It is empowering to be curious, it is empowering to dream, to imagine, to invent and reinvent because an answer to every ‘what will happen tomorrow’ is #HowAboutNow. Siddhant Chaturvedi reflects the collective voice of millions of those in this generation who are changing their ‘now’ as he pens down his personal tale of grit and perseverance and urges people to ask, ‘aaj main kya hoon‘ instead of ‘aagay ka kya socha hai’.
Siddhant Chaturvedi is a part of HP India‘s #HowAboutNow campaign. He represents all those people who are courageous enough to make their ‘today’ more valuable. Above all, he is all those people who believe ‘Kal ka sher nahi, aaj ka sher banna zaroori hai.’
Siddhant Chaturvedi’s story represents the youth of today and the effort that they put in making their ‘Now’ successful. He is all those people who believe ‘Kal ka sher nahi, aaj ka sher banna zaroori hai.’
We duly acknowledge the endeavours of HP to stand by the youth in their effort to make their NOW matter. Other influencers who have taken the conversation forward are Jasleen Royal, Shagufta and Yahya Bootwala who have all narrated their personal stories.
