Celebrating The Sacrifice Of Our Soldiers And The Unconditional Love Of Mothers!

All of us have to move out of our homes at one point in time. Maybe because we grow up, perhaps because of educational needs, possibly because of a new job. No matter what the reason might be, at a certain point in somebody’s life, we will move out of the comforts of our home. Yes, it is exciting at first. A new life, a new chapter to begin and most probably the best part is the sense of freedom.

Everyone enjoys the freedom. But, the freedom comes with a price. Yes, maybe the occasional smoke does not require an entire pack of polo anymore, but there is always a sigh at the sight of food. Yes, just after moving towards freedom, ‘ghar-ka-khana’ is what everyone craves for. Remembering what it smelled like in the kitchen, with your mother nagging you to help her with the food only brings tears now.

Just like us, our Jawans also leave the comforts of their house to protect us. The Jawans of our country make India a safe nation. They live in the harshest weather conditions, they go without food for many days. They spend sleepless nights just so that we can sleep peacefully.

People staying away from home miss home food the most. Although some people are lucky. They get to meet their mother often and experience the taste of her brilliant cooking. But the Jawans who stay the farthest away, miss out on that. They do not have the luxury of visiting their home during holidays. They are the ones who have dedicated their lives to protect our country. They miss their mom, and they miss their mom’s food. So, it is our duty that the people who dedicate their lives to our safety and security should eat healthy food.

In October, Fortune Foods collaborated with actor Akshay Kumar to bring the best to the Jawans. The campaign showcased Akshay Kumar interacting with them at a base camp, where he cooked them a meal. This noble gesture reminded them of their ‘Ghar Ka Khana’.

Taking this initiative forward, Fortune Foods decided to make these jawans a little happier. They brought their thought of helping jawans experience home-cooked food by giving them the real taste of Ghar Ka Khana cooked by their mothers. A surprise visit was arranged for the mothers of the jawans posted at the Srinagar Base Camp. The mothers got an opportunity to prepare their favourite dish and see the joy on faces of their children.

Meeting their mothers after months and experiencing their food that was cooked with warmth and love, left them overwhelmed. They spend their days and nights standing guard at remote locations with minimum or no choice in what they have for meals were delighted with this surprise.
