Babita Tade has become the first woman Rs 1 crore winner of the Amitabh Bachchan hosted famous show Kaun Banega Crorepati 11.

A midday meal cook in Amravati, Maharashtra, Babita is fondly known as Khichdi Kaku and cooks foods for 450 children every day.

Earning Rs 1500 a month she described her life as financially stable. In an interview to Indian Express, she told that she felt in future if she faces a financial hurdle she might not sustain it and hence she chose to play KBC.

Babita wanted to become a civil servant by clearing the UPSC exam. But she had to leave her dreams behind when she got married while in college. But even today she continues to be in touch with current affairs. A quality which helped her answer every question and win the jackpot.

She looked calm and composed during the show as she answered difficult questions one after the other. The question that got Babita Rs. 1 crore was: “Which poet in the court of Mughal ruler Bahadur Shah Zafar, wrote the Dastan-e-Ghadar, a personal account of 1857 Revolt?” The options were A. Mir Taqi Mir B. Mohammad Ibrahim Zauq C. Zahir Dehlvi D. Abu Al-Kasim Firdausi. She used her last remaining lifeline, expert’s help, to come up with the right answer and won Rs 1 crore. The correct answer was Zaheer Dehlvi.

The last question called the ‘jackpot question’ for Rs 7 crore was “Which of these states has had the most number of its governors become presidents of India?” With no lifeline and not sure of the correct answer, Tade decided to quit. But she left viewers amazed as she guessed the right answer.

When asked what would she do with the prize money she shared her wish to make a Shivalay and dedicate the rest for her children’s future. She also said that she would like to do what she is doing now, even if she becomes a crorepati, as she loves her work.
