Yoga As A Science For Inner Wellbeing

Reflecting on the 12th International Day of Yoga, Sadhguru said the milestone marked the completion of an approximate solar cycle since the observance began. “Twelve years as you know is an approximate solar cycle. So we completed one cycle of this International Yoga Day. It’s time to pitch it up so that nobody in this world goes without knowing that there are ways to fix themselves,” he said. Emphasising the purpose of yoga, he added, “What we call as yoga is not a philosophy, is not an ideology, not a belief system, not a religion.”

Describing yoga as a science and technology for inner wellbeing, Sadhguru said it offers practical tools to support optimal functioning of the body, mind, emotion, intelligence and energies. He also stressed that human experience happens from within and stated that if people wish to bring human experience to its full potential, “IN is the only way out.”

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

A notable aspect of this year’s International Day of Yoga celebrations was the participation of people from diverse backgrounds, including students, defence personnel, volunteers and members of the public. The launch of the Kannada version of Miracle of Mind, along with the addition of Gujarati, Malayalam, Bangla, Italian and Nepali, expanded the guided meditation offering to 12 languages, making it more accessible to different communities.

Beyond the day-long celebrations, Sadhguru Sannidhi Bengaluru continues to offer free daily yoga sessions in Kannada, English, Telugu and Hindi, alongside Classical Hatha Yoga programmes, and has reached more than one lakh participants through its free yoga initiatives.

As conversations around wellbeing continue to grow, how can communities create more inclusive spaces that support both physical and mental wellbeing for all?
