A resident of Puran Nagar in Talab Tillo area of Jammu city named Ram Krishan has got an electricity bill of over Rs 39 crore for the month of October.

This was unbelievably shocking for him. “Ours is a middle class family and even… the richest family in the country don’t get such a huge electricity bill for one month”, a family member of Ram Krishan said.

There must have been some error with the billing software and given assurance to rectify it at the earliest a PDD official said.

“The issue has come to our notice and we will look into it and make sure that the issue is rectified at the earliest,” he said.

Moot question is however it will be solved as the bill amount is unbelievable; what about the other bills if the software was erroneous. We hope this family gets it fixed and the department does thorough testing of the software to avoid any such situation in future.
