False Claims
Although the photo is original, the claim the Facebook post made, is false.
On August 4, Facebook user Rajdeep Roy posted the photo along with the claim in Bengali that said, “Modi+Mota bhai therapy. And the result of surgery by our brave forces. Pakistani soldiers are begging for peace with a white flag in hand. Be proud of our forces and say Jai Jawan.”
Many Facebook users endorsed the post and shared the photo.
India Today’s Anti Fake News War Room (AFWA) found that no such truce was declared by the Pakistani Army. The photo was shot last month when Indian soldiers handed over a seven-year-old Pakistani boy’s coffin who drowned in the Kishengang River and his body drifted into the Indian Territory.
After a reverse search, it was found that Journalist Aditya Raj Kaul shared the photos from the handover which involved both the Indian as well as the Pakistani Army.

The journalist’s post contains the same photos in the Facebook post. The white flag being carried by the Pakistani Army as it approaches the Indian Army is a part of the SoP when the troops of two countries meet. The ADGPI, the official handle of the Indian Army also posted images and videos of the handover.
#EachLifePrecious On 09 July, a dead body was recovered from the Burzil Nala close to Line of Control near Acchura village. The #IndianArmy immediately swung into action and were able to establish the identity of the young boy through civil administration as a seven year old Abid Ahmad Sheikh resident of Minimarg across the Line of Control in Gilgit region. As per the reports on #SocialMedia, the young Abid was missing since 08 Jul 19 and is likely to have slipped into Burzil Nala. In accordance to #IndianArmy ethos, as a #Humanitarian gesture Indian Army established contact with #Pakistan Army on hot line and also convinced the civil administration to facilitate handing over of the dead body at the earliest. The local religious head and village elders were taken into confidence to support the noble gesture of handing over the dead body to the family of the deceased young boy at the earliest. Accordingly on 11 Jul 19, the dead body has been handed over to Pakistan Army , near Village Dudhgai. #OurMoralOurValues #Humanity #IndianArmy
