Prince – the soldier dog from Mumbai Police’s Bomb Detection Squad Gets state funeral and a 21-gun salute.

Dogs were probably the first pets to be domesticated in Stone Age itself. Since then dogs have played many vital roles in human lives, like friend, protector, and tip off agent for any threat or natural calamity. Not only these part time non official works they did, they were recruited officially in army and police forces too.

One of such soldier was Prince, a 10-year-old Labrador, worked with the Mumbai Police’s Bomb Detection Squad. After years of solid service with the Mumbai police force, Prince had just moved on to his retired life this August, but he could not enjoy his retired life for too long. On Friday morning, he died after suffering a heart attack.

The Labrador’s greatest contribution was during the 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai, when he unearthed four live bombs and 17 hand grenades, saving hundreds of lives. Earlier, when terror had struck Mumbai’s life line, the local trains on July 7, 2006, Prince significantly helped the probe by sniffing out forensic evidence.

This is moment of pride for all #DogLovers and state forces. May we get such more heroes from the dog family to serve our nation!

May his soul Rest in Peace. Amen!
