Leonardo DiCaprio Wins His First Academy Award for ‘The Revenant’ at Oscars 2016 after six nominations.

Di Caprio during his award acceptance speech, he warned the world about climate change, a phenomenon he rightly says is caused by human greed. He urged the world to do act now and reverse it before it is too late. He said making The Revenant was “about man’s relationship to the natural world”. “Climate change is real – it is happening right now,” he said. “It is the most urgent threat right now to our entire species and we need to work now.
“Let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take this night for granted.”
Di Caprio is now the leading voice in spreading awareness and gathering support in the fight against global warming In the past, he has run the de-investment campaign against energy sector based on petroleum.

The Logical Indian community congratulates Leonardo DiCaprio on winning the award and taking the initiative to spread the message of imminent dangers regarding global warming. We hope Di Caprio’s call for collective action towards global warming and indigenous people will galvanize the minds of policy makers around the world and the world is made a better place for all of us.
