How many times have you felt you are getting a 2G speed while you are subscribed to a 3G pack?

We are being cheated by telecom companies every day. We have all seen TV ads by telecom companies with claims of super fast internet available on the highest mountains and far-flung islands. But we don’t get a stable internet even in metro cities.

Despite over four years of its existence in India, 3G is still limited to reach and service standards. According to a recent report by Ericsson, 48% mobile customers found no difference between 2G and 3G speeds. While operators are busy spending billions to sell 4G in India,only 30% of Indian cellular towers are 3G enabled. They don’t have the adequate infrastructure which leads to data drops and unstable internet. They even cap data speeds in some areas because they can’t handle the load.Just to make the customers migrate from 3G to 4G, don’t you think operators are intentionally degrading the 3G services?

They promise 21Mbps to 100Mbps, but can barely deliver 2Mbps.TRAI has imposed a mere Rs.1.5 lakh penalty for sub-standards services. Ironically, the quality report submitted to the government is compiled by the telecom operators themselves, not by an independent body.
Sign our petition and join us in asking TRAI and the Telecom Ministry to:

• Ensure that the rules and regulations are being strictly followed by the Telecom Operators.
• Conduct independent Service audits of quality across India.
• Impose hefty penalty if any violation of regulations found.
• Direct the operators to declare and communicate the minimum speeds to the customers in all their advertisements.
• Rationalize the spectrum prices so that telecoms have sufficient resources at hand and are left with no excuse to upgrade the infrastructure.

India is one of the slowest mobile connected countries in the Asia Pacific. How can we compete with rest of the world if our internet slows us down?

Sign our petition to make the ISP’sdeliver a guaranteed minimum internet speed for the existing 2G, 3G and 4G services. This means once the minimum speed of 3G is set to X Mbps and to that of 4G is set to Y Mbps, telecom operators cannot take down the respective guaranteed speeds under any circumstance.
