EMC might still be new for many, but it’s a technology giant which provides many of the services we use today.

The company is leading datacenter storage provider for large technology companies which has been acquired by Dell recently.

After acquiring EMC, Dell makes the largest acquisition at $67 billion beating the next-largest in which Avago acquired chipset maker Broadcom for $37 billion in May 2015.

Dell made a offer of  $33.15 per share to EMC, with the remainder in securities which equates to the value of EMC-controlled VMware, latter will continue to  remain a listed company.

This deal will undoubtedly help Dell raise its profile in data centers, as EMC holds nearly twice the shares Dell has in the storage market. Along with this, Dell also becomes one of the largest providers of enterprise computing products and services.

While it brings all cheers for Dell, it seems to be a move not parallel to its competitor, Hewlett Packard, which has chosen to spit its business rather than make it larger.
