Following the tragic Red Fort blast in Delhi that claimed 15 lives, the Delhi Police has issued a public advisory urging citizens to remain vigilant and act as the forces’ “eyes and ears.”

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two key suspects linked to the attack: Amir Rashid Ali, accused of helping the alleged ‘suicide bomber’ Umar un Nabi obtain the car used in the vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED), and Jasir Bilal Wani, alleged to have provided technical support, including modifying drones and attempting to develop rockets for future attacks.

The investigation is ongoing, with NIA teams working across Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, probing a wider conspiracy, examining seized vehicles, and questioning over 70 witnesses.

Delhi Police Advisory

Delhi Police released an urgent public advisory urging everyone in the city to remain watchful and promptly report any suspicious activity to authorities. The advisory emphasised citizen participation as a critical part of citywide security, encouraging residents to act as “eyes and ears” to support investigative efforts and strengthen public safety.

Enhanced patrols have been deployed around high-footfall areas, with explosive detection squads and forensic teams conducting thorough checks near heritage sites and transport hubs. Commuters are also advised to avoid the Red Fort area, keep track of official updates, and use alternate routes for daily travel.

Officials reiterated that collective vigilance and cooperation are essential for preventing further incidents and safeguarding Delhi’s communities.

Red Fort Car Blast Details

The expansion of the investigation follows the bomb blast near the Red Fort on November 10, which has deeply shaken the city and the nation. Authorities have ramped up security measures in the historic area and surrounding markets like Chandni Chowk, which remained cordoned off for days after the explosion.

The Enforcement Directorate also conducted raids at 25 locations, including the Delhi office of Al-Falah University in Okhla, probing a suspected terror network allegedly involving doctors and ties to Faridabad.

Expanding Investigation Efforts

According to official statements, Amir Rashid Ali was produced before a Delhi court and sent to NIA custody for interrogation. The NIA spokesperson confirmed media that Ali, a resident of Kashmir, was arrested after an extensive search operation.

Investigations suggest that the terror module had planned coordinated attacks using drones and other remote-triggered explosives. Authorities have also recovered evidence connected to the suspects, including vehicles and explosives, and are working with multiple police forces and central agencies to dismantle the network.

Senior police officials emphasise the critical role of public vigilance in enhancing city safety and urge citizens to report anything suspicious immediately.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

This horrific act of terror attempts to instil fear and division among communities. At The Logical Indian, we champion peace, empathy, and solidarity as essential pillars to countering violence and hatred.

Citizens acting as vigilant, responsible members of society, working alongside authorities, can create a safer environment for all. Our strength lies in unity and active, compassionate citizenship.
