Delhi Police foils ISI-linked terror conspiracy, arrests nine suspects plotting coordinated attacks across North India.

A major terror conspiracy orchestrated by a Pakistan-linked ISI module has been foiled by the Delhi Police Special Cell. The plot, involving operatives from the Shahzad Bhatti module, aimed to launch coordinated attacks on a historic temple in Delhi, a high-traffic dhaba on the Delhi–Sonipat highway, and a military camp in Hisar, Haryana.

Interrogations of nine arrested suspects revealed that they had conducted detailed reconnaissance, mapping targets and sharing videos with cross-border handlers to trigger large-scale panic. Currently, security agencies are analyzing digital evidence to track further sleeper cells and prevent any remnants of the network from mobilizing.

Targeted Reckoning: Reconnaissance and Interrogations

The investigation, part of the ‘Gang Bust Operation 2.0’, revealed a chilling level of preparation. According to police sources, one operative had already completed a survey of a prominent Delhi temple, photographing the premises to plan an attack on security personnel and paramilitary forces.

Further details emerged regarding a planned grenade attack on a popular dhaba on the Delhi–Sonipat highway, a location chosen specifically because it is frequented by thousands of daily commuters.

“The intention was to cause maximum casualties in crowded public spaces,” an official stated. Additionally, videos of a military camp in Hisar were recovered, indicating that the module was expanding its scope to include strategic defence installations alongside soft civilian targets.

A Pattern of Shadowy Networks

This latest bust follows a string of similar operations aimed at dismantling cross-border espionage and terror networks. Just weeks prior, security forces uncovered a separate module using solar-powered CCTV cameras to monitor troop movements near international borders in Punjab and Rajasthan.

Officials noted that these disparate cells often share a common link: recruitment through social media and encrypted platforms by the ISI.

The suspects, often lured by monetary incentives or radicalized through online propaganda, are increasingly tasked with “hybrid” roles blending traditional criminal activity with organized terrorism to compromise India’s internal security from within.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

At The Logical Indian, we believe that such conspiracies are not just attacks on physical structures, but on the very fabric of our shared peace and harmony. While we commend the swift action of our security forces in averting a tragedy, we must also reflect on the growing trend of digital radicalization that preys on our youth.

True security cannot be built on surveillance alone; it requires a society rooted in dialogue, empathy, and the resilience to reject ideologies of hate. We must remain vigilant yet composed, ensuring that the intent of these modules to create “large-scale panic” fails against the strength of our collective unity.
