Indian cycling sensation Deborah Herold has made us proud again by becoming first Indian to qualify for track Cycling World Championships. She is getting registered in the history for the second time in less than two months. Earlier she became the first female cyclist from the country to reach the heights of fourth place in the UCI individual world ranking and on this Tuesday she qualified for the 2016 Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Track Cycling World Championships.

* Deborah Herold, first Indian to qualify for the track Cycling World Championships .
* She is also the first Indian female cyclist to be ranked fourth in the world.

She won one gold and two silver medals in Track Asia Cup two months back , improving her ranking from 10 to 4. She collected 211 points in 500m time trial and secured fourth place in the World Elite UCI(International Cycling Union) released by UCI.

Deborah Herold had to struggle a lot reach this position . Her home got washed away in Tsunami and she had to live on a tree for a day, to survive herself.

“This is another feather in her cap. It just goes to show what hard work and dedication can do, and we are all very proud of her. Only 20 cyclists in the world qualify for the event. Hers is really a phenomenal career graph,” the The Times Of India quoted VN Singh, assistant secretary of the Cycling Federation of India, as saying.

“Hopefully Deborah can do well there and bring further laurels to the country. If she scores points at the ACC too, these will be added and she stands to rise further in the standings. We are all very, very proud of her,” Singh added.

The Track Cycling World Championships will be held in London from March 2-6.

The Logical Indian community applauds the efforts of Deborah Herold. We also hope that she inspires cycling enthusiasts to take this sport and bring pride to our nation.
