This year’s CUET UG exam witnessed participation from 13,54,699 registered candidates, with 10,71,735 appearing across 300 cities in India and 15 centres abroad. The exam was conducted in 37 subjects, including 13 languages and 23 domain-specific subjects, allowing candidates to choose up to five papers.

Background and Significance of CUET UG

Introduced to unify undergraduate admissions across central universities, CUET UG replaces multiple entrance exams with a single, standardised test. This year’s exam saw a reduction in the number of papers from 61 to 37 and a cap of five subject choices per candidate, aiming to reduce student stress and enhance focus.

The results will guide admissions for 243 universities, streamlining the process and ensuring merit-based, transparent selection. Universities will soon release detailed cut-offs and counselling dates based on these results.
