While sharing this video, people on social media claimed a pir was arrested by the police in Punjab, India for fooling people.
The video was initially shot in December 2020 during the farmers’ protests. Farmers in Lohian Khas area carried out effigies during a Bharat Bandh which is unrelated to recent clashes between supporters of Amritpal Singh and the Punjab police.
Our investigation revealed that the case was not of an inter-religion marriage but an inter-caste marriage. There is no communal angle involved in this case.
