Bihar’s Chanpatia Sugar Mill, the state’s oldest and a historic emblem of rural prosperity since its establishment in 1932 during the British era, is set to restart operations after almost three decades.

This monumental decision was announced in November 2025 during the first cabinet meeting of the newly formed Bihar government under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
