Around 50 young women narrowly escaped a devastating fire late on Sunday night in Bengaluru’s Nandini Layout after a blaze that reportedly began at a warehouse storing LED banners and signage spread rapidly to a neighbouring four-storey building housing a women’s paying guest (PG) accommodation.
With thick smoke and flames engulfing the premises and blocking exits, several residents were forced to jump from upper floors or rush down staircases in panic to save their lives. Fire and Emergency Services personnel quickly reached the spot and evacuated all residents safely, preventing casualties despite the scale of the blaze.
Police have registered an accidental fire case and launched an investigation, with preliminary inputs suggesting an electrical short circuit at the warehouse as the possible trigger for the fire.
Midnight Fire Triggers Dramatic Escape
The incident unfolded late on Sunday night near the Dr Rajkumar Memorial area in Nandini Layout when a fire reportedly broke out inside a warehouse storing LED banners and screens.
