UP Govt Spending 133 Crore On Deepotsav Was Incorrect, Press Release Says They Spent 1.32 Crore

Earlier The Logical Indian published an article titled UP Government Spends Rs 133 crore To Light 6 Lakh Diyas While State Suffers From Cash Crunch, in which we mentioned that the spending of the UP government on ‘Deepotsav’ was 133 crore. We reported that the Rs 133 crore was spent to light six lakh Diyas in Ayodhya on the banks of Saryu river, as a part of the state government’s Diwali celebration on Sunday, October 27. The government created a Guinness world record for lighting Diyas.

The figure of Rs 133 crore spent on the celebrations in Ayodhya was based on media reports based on IANS reporting. Contrary to what The Logical Indian and other media reported, the press release by UP Government on its state website says that the spending on the Deepostav was approximately 1.32 crore.

The press release mentions the government’s spending as Rs 132.72 lakhs which comes to around 1.33 crores and not 133 crores. We at The Logical Indian apologise for the mistake and the incorrect reporting.
