An Inspiring Show Which Can Help You Quit Smoking

Many people start smoking without thinking much about the consequences. Will it be just a one-time thing? Will it be something that is done only in the company of friends? The craving starts with one cigarette a day and soon develops into a full-fledged addiction.

Cigarettes trick us into believing that we need them. We want to quit after some time, but alas, that is an arduous journey to undertake. The mission is similar to conquering the highest peak in the world, Mt Everest. That is a Personal everest one has to conquer.

It takes months, sometimes years of struggle and motivation to give up a habit that has been with us for years. There are many who require a stronger push to be inspired. Quitting smoking isn’t easy, but there are also many who have succeeded in doing so.



Innovative Campaign

Nicotex, with its #ICanYouCan campaign, urged people to promote a healthy lifestyle and quit smoking. They started conversations and discussions on a public platform – places where people can read about other people’s journey and be inspired to take a similar path.They urged quitters to share their stories and influence, other people, to quit smoking too.

Many shared their stories on Nicotex’s Facebook Page with the hashtag #ICanYouCan. Out of them, the six best stories were selected, and the people have been given the opportunity to visit Everest’s Base camp. Three of them have been successful in quitting cigarettes, and three of them are trying to quit. For the ones who are trying to quit, they undertook this journey towards the Everest base camp in a bid to conquer their personal Everest.

The show is being hosted by Milind Soman, who himself is a quitter. He started smoking when he first joined acting. “I took my first drag of a cigarette, and of course, I hated it,” he said. He also said that once he realised that he needed to quit smoking, he slowly tried to give it up. Finally, after three years, he quit.

The show focuses on the journey of these six people, along with the host Milind Soman himself. It is a journey of 65 kms and 17,600 feet. These people set out to conquer their fears and struggle. Not only did they set out to conquer Everest, but they also set out to win their health back and defeat cigarettes. They set out to capture the Everest within.
