Companies Have Found Ways To Help Flood Victims Of Kerala And Kodagu, Here’s How You Can Too

The rains in Kerala and Kodagu might have eased over the last few days, but the problem of rebuilding looms large over the state government. As both the states are struggling to find its ground after the devastating floods which resulted in over 300 deaths and more than 14 lakh lives displaced, financial aid and technical assistance have been pouring in from all corners of the country as well as from the world over.

Even corporates like Google, Zomato, Uber, Big Basket and Paytm among others have taken up initiatives to either raise money or help by providing food and other assistance to the affected people of Kerala and Kodagu. Not only the big corporates, the new and upcoming companies have also come forward in this time of need. Adda52 Rummy is one such upcoming gaming company which is also trying to raise funds for the flood victims of Kerala and Kodagu in its own unique way.

On August 31, they are organizing an event at 6 pm for a prize pool of Rs 50,000. Players who are interested can play with a Rs 50 buy-in. For every buy-in of Rs 50, Adda52 Rummy will donate Rs 50 for flood relief.

The more the merrier, quite literally in this case as the total number of players who join in on the event will contribute directly to increasing the amount of money that will be donated by Adda52 Rummy to the Floods relief funds of Kerala and Kodagu. Card games like Rummy are deeply rooted in the Indian culture where people have been playing them for hundreds of years.

Other innovative ideas to help the flood victims include the likes of Google who have activated their Person Finder tool to help find missing people in Kerala. Also, Amazon India has partnered with several NGOs and is urging its customers to donate necessary goods as asked by these NGOs. Paytm has activated a Kerala flood donation button that is linked to the CMDRF’s account directly to help aid rescue operations. Zomato has partnered with Akshaya Patra Foundation to donate food to flood victims. Big Basket has partnered with Goonj and is asking its customers to buy products that can then be delivered to victims.

We hope that the situation in Kerala and Kodagu becomes better and help reaches all victims in time. We appreciate each and every one of you who is taking valuable time from their lives and contributing to the relief effort in any way.
