Women across the world balance daily chores along with their work with finesse. A small testimony for this is the incident at Darrang district in Assam where police officers took care of children of their mothers who came to attempt their Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET). The incident took place on November 10 where the on-duty police officials outside the examination hall volunteered to take care of the kids.

The Assam Police Department posted a picture and tweeted, “Mother is a verb. It’s something you do, not just who you are! Assam Police personnel in Darrang district taking care of the Lil’ ones, while their mothers write the TET Exam.” There were many positive responses and retweets from the public for this post.

Surprisingly, not only women police officers but also police officers sprang up to help. In the same thread, male Police Officers can be spotted engaging a kid and playing with him.

Appreciating this gesture, Kularam Saika, Director General of Police, Assam-Meghalaya Cadre tweeted, “Children sleep soundly in mother’s tender arms. When their Moms are busy writing teacher recruitment (TET) exam, Assam Police ensured that the babies are cuddled up in safe & secure hands.”  This tweet attracted a lot of traction and responses appreciating the police for taking charge at the moment.

Such incidents highlight the humane side of police that is often understated and overlooked.
